Documentary Film
A record of the Big Bend as it is right now: the land, the people, and the changes underway.
The Big Bend is changing, and most of the country will never see it happen. The region is remote, the distances are long, and the events reshaping it rarely make national news. What the record needs is exactly what film provides: a document of how things stand, made while they still stand that way.
The Alliance supports an independent documentary film recording the current state of the region: the river and the canyons, the communities that live here, the night skies, and the construction now underway. The production works alongside the local river guides and outfitters who know this stretch of the Rio Grande best, so the film is grounded in the people who make their living on the water.
BBPA's role is educational support and funding. We help the work get made and reach an audience; the film itself is the filmmakers' own.
